Over the past 12 months, the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has celebrated success and excellence through its major events and initiatives and has laid the foundations for future prosperity.

It is pleasing to report that the financial results of The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) for the 12 months ending on 31 March 2011 (pre joint venture interest) represented the best financial result since the redevelopment of Melbourne Showgrounds in 2006.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has continued to focus in the past year on opportunities to connect with the rural community and, in the process, add value for our members and our rural constituents more broadly.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) is responsible for staging some of the state’s most prestigious events, including the Royal Melbourne Show, the Australian International Beer Awards, the Royal Melbourne Wine Show, the Fine Food Awards and the Royal Melbourne Horse Show.

For the first time in our proud history the 152nd Royal Melbourne Show was held without equestrian events.

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RAS) commenced a new chapter in its proud history during 2006/7 with the completion of the redeveloped Showgrounds.

It was a year of transition and vision for the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RAS). The year was dominated by the major redevelopment work on the Melbourne Showgrounds under the Joint Venture partnership between the Victorian Government and the RAS.
