What out Trophy Winners Say
"It is a proud moment for me, and a wonderful thing to see how we (the industry) are growing and the respect that our industry is gaining overseas. Bars that we once dreamed of being in now want desperately to have more Australian spirits, and Melbourne really is the mecca for that. Winning this award is a huge honour and surprise." Bill Lark, Lark Distillery, TAS Winner – Champion Australian Distiller Trophy, 2015
"Old Young’s entered the ADSA in both 2015 and 2016. The awards provide us with the opportunity to benchmark ourselves against other Australian distillers and importantly to receive independent and constructive feedback on the quality of our products. Compared to many other international spirits competitions, the ADSA appeals to me as having probably the most rigorous assessment procedures. Winning a Gold Medal and ultimately a Trophy was a great honour and vindication of the products we make." James Young, Old Young’s, WA Winner – Champion Vodka Trophy, 2016
"Winning a trophy and Gold Medals in a credible competition is testament to the work that we are doing in the distillery. That third-party endorsement and the resulting press exposure helps assure industry and the public that we are making quality product. It has also helped our team perception of ourselves. Participating in the Winning Tastes Pavilion during the 2016 Royal Melbourne Show was a great opportunity to be able to present our products to the Victorian public. RASV provided a great stand and fantastic exposure to showcase our products to discerning buyers and trade." Cameron Syme, Limeburners Distiller, WA Winner – Champion Whisky, Small Batch and Australian Distiller Trophies, 2016
Message from the ADA
Australian Distillers Association President Stuart Gregor:
The membership and committee members of the Australian Distillers Association fully endorse the RASV Australian Distilled Spirits Awards and encourages all members to enter the show. The show is an important step in continuing the push for broader recognition of the great quality of Australian spirits among fellow distillers, retailers, bartenders and consumers. The RASV has a terrific record of accomplishment at running excellent Award programs, including the Australian International Beer Awards and the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards, and the Distilled Spirits Awards is no exception. Regardless of who wins the trophies it will be a terrific showcase for our burgeoning industry.
