The Rural Ambassador Award (RAA) is presented by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria in conjunction with Victorian Agricultural Shows Ltd and is an integral part of the Royal Melbourne Show.

The Rural Ambassador Award was first held in 1996, when it was called the Young Citizen Award,The Rural Ambassador Award was created as a competition that celebrated and rewarded young men and women who were involved in the ‘show’ movement. The RAA seeks to highlight and celebrate rural and regional young people aged 20 to 30, with a particular emphasis on candidates who are involved in their local show society.
