When do entries open and close?
Entry forms and the Royal Melbourne Dairy Show schedule will be available in May 2013, entries will close mid-July 2013. Choose the Entries menu item to obtain information and forms.
How many exhibits can I nominate, and when do nominations close?
Please note that in 2013, exhibitors must nominate the animals they wish to bring when submitting their entry form.
What if I want to change a nomination?
If you no longer wish to bring a nominated exhibit/s, please use the substitution form (a copy will be sent with your entry form) to advise the RASV of the exhibit/s you are withdrawing and the details of the exhibit/s replacing it.
When is my breed being judged? When are my cattle scheduled to arrive?
The 2013 Royal Melbourne Show Dairy Cattle Competition timetable will be available in May.
I’m bringing someone else’s cattle – whose name should the entry be under?
The entry has a section to add contact details and a section for Registered Owner of the exhibits. All correspondence, including arrival information and passes, will be sent to the person listed as the contact. The exhibits will be listed in the catalogue under the Registered Owner as per each animal’s registration certificate. If you are bringing a team of animals registered under different owners, a different entry form needs to be completed for each registered owner, even if the same person is bring all the animals.
Can I sleep on-site? Are there kitchen and bathroom facilities available?
Accommodation lockers are available, and are situated in the Horse Pavilion neighbouring the Weekly Times Livestock Pavilion. Limited accommodation lockers are available, and requests cannot always be met. It is recommended you try and arrange sharing a locker where possible. Exhibitors are not permitted to sleep in the Weekly Times Livestock Pavilion. Kitchen and bathroom facilities for exhibitors are provided, including fridges, freezers and stoves. There is a variety of restaurants and pubs in the area, and a supermarket is located within walking distance of the Weekly Times Livestock Pavillion.
Where can I park my truck?
Free truck parking is available to all exhibitors. You will be required to indicate on your entry form if you require parking in order to allocate you a space.
The Royal Melbourne Dairy Show is not part of the Royal Melbourne Show – can the public still come?
The general public is encouraged to attend. Entry to the Royal Melbourne Dairy Show is free, and free parking is available to all visitors. There is still plenty to see and do for all dairy enthusiasts at the Royal Melbourne Dairy Show. Please note that aspects of the Royal Melbourne Show, such as the Showbag Pavilion, rides, and other livestock competitions are not held during the Royal Melbourne Dairy Show.
