Major Awards

The Royal Melbourne Show celebrates the best of the best in the Beef Cattle industry. There are numerous major awards presented throughout the Competitions, with the highlights including:

Grand Champion Female, Grand Champion Bull

Junior and Senior Champions for each breed compete for their respective titles of Grand Champion. The Grand Champion Female and Bull are lined up to determine the Supreme Breed Exhibit.
 

Supreme Beef Exhibit

All Junior and Senior Breed Champions are eligible to compete for their respective titles of Supreme Junior and Senior Beef Breed Heifer, Female and Bull.
The Supreme Junior Beef Breed Heifer, the Supreme Senior Beef Breed Female, the Supreme Junior Beef Breed Bull and the Supreme Senior Beef Breed Bull all compete for the ultimate accolade of Supreme Beef Exhibit of the Show.
 

The Wellcom Supreme Sire Award -Recognising the Beef Industries ‘Best of the Best’

The Supreme Sire Award provides an opportunity for exhibitors to display the commercial traits of their herd and be awarded for showcasing high quality beef genetics.

The $10,000 award will be won if the same sire sires the Supreme Champion Beef Breed Exhibit and the Grand Champion Carcase. In any one year of the Royal Melbourne Show, the Grand Champion Carcase must be either entered, managed or bred by the exhibitor of the winning Supreme Champion Beef Breed Exhibit.

Criteria

All exhibits entered at the Royal Melbourne Show must be registered in a recognised Australian Herd Book of their breed and have a background of at least five recorded generations of their breed.

Please ensure you carefully read the Regulations and details of each Class once the Schedule is released, as these may change from year to year.
