This unique and exciting food industry role will position you as a valued member of a friendly and professional team that conducts some of Victoria's most profiled food and wine competitions including the Australian International Beer Awards, Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards and the Royal Melbourne Wine Show.
The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria is a member based, not for profit organisation that is dedicated to supporting excellence in Victorian agriculture and there is an exciting role available in its Epicure Events team.
This position works in a small team of professionals who develop and deliver programs and events that showcase the Australian food, beer and wine industries. As Event Manager, Beverage, you will have specific responsibility for the planning and delivery of the Royal Melbourne Wine Show and the Australian International Beer Awards, undertaking event planning processes, administering the successful delivery of the competitions and supporting the industry based advisory groups and committees that support these events.
This position will be required to coordinate competition displays and promotional activities throughout the year and during the Royal Melbourne Show. This position will also assist to develop and deliver new beverage specific events and content as it is developed by the RASV to continually improve the quality and profile of the Victorian food industry.
Highly self motivated, you are an enthusiastic, energetic and professional team player, with excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, and you have extensive experience in managing events and competitions within a hospitality framework with specific experience in the beer and/or wine industry. You will have strategic planning skills, great attention to detail, lateral and creative thinking and the ability to work on multiple projects to deadlines. In addition to strong project management and organisational skills, you will have excellent administrative skills together with the ability to build and manage relationships with key contacts in a multiple stakeholder environment. Experience and specific knowledge of beer and wine commodities is essential.
