Membership to The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria

The RASV’s financial year commences on 1 April each year.
Your Membership card is your identification that you are a current financial member of the RASV.
Your Membership card is valid once you have signed the white signature panel on the reverse side.
Your Membership card is not transferable.
To gain access into the Royal Melbourne Show at any time you are required to present your membership card for scanning at the turnstiles. Upon exit, you are required to scan your membership card at the turnstiles if you plan re-enter the Royal Melbourne Show on the same day.
To gain access to Member facilities or privileges at the Royal Melbourne Show and other events you will need to present your membership card upon request.
If membership cards are misused they may be confiscated.
Any breach of Membership conditions may result in the confiscation of your membership card and/or cancellation of your membership.
Guest cards are fully transferable. Guest passes will only admit one person into the Royal Melbourne Show per day. Members do not need to accompany their guest to enter the Royal Melbourne Show.
Membership, under no circumstance, is refundable. Once payment for Membership is receipted, this becomes official and non-negotiable.

Membership
2.1 The RASV shall consist of Voting Members (including Honorary Life Members) and Non-Voting Members (including Councillors and Life Councillors who are not otherwise Voting Members).
2.2 Every applicant for membership shall complete the application form and pay the subscription prescribed by the Directors from time to time for the class or category of membership for which the person is an applicant.
2.3 The Directors may refuse any application for membership without providing reasons.
2.4 The privileges, terms and conditions of, and subscriptions payable for, membership of the RASV, or of any class or category of membership, shall be determined by the Directors from time to time, and (unless the Directors determine otherwise) shall be due and payable on 1 April in each year. The Directors may from time to time determine at different amounts or rates, or suspend or waive payment of, the subscriptions for membership of the RASV payable by members or any class or category of members.
2.5 A person may be appointed an Honorary Life Member by the Directors, in recognition of services rendered in promoting the objects for which the RASV was established. A person who prior to the Effective Date has been appointed an Honorary Life Member shall continue to be an Honorary Life Member, subject to Rule 2.8. A person who is or is appointed an Honorary Life Member is entitled to vote at a general meeting of the RASV.
2.6 Subject to the right of Honorary Life Members pursuant to rule 2.5, the privileges of membership of the RASV, or of any class or category of membership, shall be determined by the Directors from time to time. A Member shall not be entitled to any of the privileges of membership (including, without limitation, for Voting Members, the right to vote at a general meeting of the RASV) whilst that Member's subscription remains due and unpaid or any other sum owed by such Member to the RASV remains due and unpaid.
2.7 A Member ceases to be a Member if that Member's subscription remains due and unpaid for more than three Months (or such other period as the Directors determine from time to time).
2.8 An Honorary Life Member ceases to be an Honorary Life Member if such Member resigns by written notice to the Secretary; or in the opinion of the Directors is for any reason unable or unfit to be an Honorary Life Member; or dies.
