Entries now open for the 2018 Australian International Coffee Awards

After receiving a record-breaking number of entries in 2017, entries are now open for the 2018 Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA).

The AICA is the first and only coffee roasting competition in Australia, receiving more than 800 entries from over 180 exhibitors, including coffees from New Zealand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Singapore, Canada, the USA and UK.

The competition offers exhibitors the opportunity to benchmark their products against industry standards, receive feedback from independent industry experts, market their coffee with a seal of quality and gain access to an exclusive medal winners’ marketing and promotions toolkit.

With a hospitality career spanning more than 20 years, William Angliss Institute Coffee Academy Teacher Coordinator, Melissa Caia, will once again guide an expert judging panel as Head Judge.

With judging to take place from Wednesday 7 – Friday 9 March at Melbourne Showgrounds and the trophy winners to be announced on Wednesday 21 March, coffee roasters are encouraged to get their entries in early to be part of this prestigious competition.

Mark Bignell of Bellissimo Coffee, winner of Champion Cold Brew and Champion Milk Based Coffee in 2017 said the AICA is a fantastic opportunity to benchmark your coffee.

“The AICA is an opportunity to gauge the quality of our coffee against some of the best roasters in Australia and overseas,” said Mark.

“Winning trophies at the AICA gives us strong credibility with our customers – both current and future.”

Conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), entries for the competition close on Wednesday 21 February. For more information or to enter online visit coffee.rasv.com.au.
