Royal Melbourne Show Sheep Auction to provide the perfect sale platform
Entries for the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show Sheep Competition are now open with Wiltshire Horn the feature breed.
Conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the Royal Melbourne Show Sheep Competition awards some of the country’s most prestigious prizes and trophies including the RASV Interbreed Supreme Champion Ram and Ewe of Show.
The Royal Melbourne Show provides a platform to exhibitors from all registered sheep breeds to exhibit and showcase their sheep to over 470,000 Show patrons.
The Royal Melbourne Show provides exhibitors with an experience like no other Show, with an exceptional judging ring, first class penning facilities and the RASV Members Stockman’s Lounge providing the perfect place to relax and catch up with friends and clients.
Sheep exhibitors will enjoy stress free arrival at Melbourne Showgrounds, prior to the Show commencing. Included in the offering is two nights of catered meals, including the RASV Sheep and Wool Celebration Function at the conclusion of the interbreed judging.
Included again this year is an all breeds sheep auction, designed to provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase and sell some of their best stud sheep.
The auction will be facilitated by Auctions Plus and Stud Stock Sales and provides a terrific and affordable option for exhibitors wanting to increase stud exposure to new and returning clients.
The auction will go live online as exhibitors arrive at Melbourne Showgrounds on Thursday 19 September. Bidding will be available until the culmination of the auction on the afternoon of Monday 23 September.
Exhibitors interested in the sale are encouraged to complete their entries and nominate their sale sheep early to allow for maximum exposure of their sale lots in the lead up to the event. Exhibitors are encouraged to include pictures and videos of their sale lots that will be shared on the Auctions Plus website.
The 2019 Royal Melbourne Show will take place at Melbourne Showgrounds from 21 September to 1 October.
