Message of support from the Governor of Victoria

Further to the difficult decision that was made by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) Board to cancel the 2020 Royal Melbourne Show, RASV President Matt Coleman had the privilege of speaking with the Governor of Victoria, Honourable Linda Dessau AC to inform her of the decision.
As the Head of State and also as the Patron of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, Her Excellency expressed her disappointment yet understanding and support of the decision made.
Her Excellency acknowledged the tough year it has been to date for many of our farmers and communities in regional Victoria with the devastating fires that raged through summer, followed by all the uncertainties of COVID-19. She extended her gratitude to all Victorian farmers and expressed her and her husband, Mr Howard’s support for the return of the Royal Melbourne Show in 2021.
