The 2020 Australian International Coffee Awards are set to decide the world’s best coffee roasts

The world’s best roasters are invited to benchmark their product at Australia’s leading coffee roasting awards program, the Australian International Coffee Awards (AICA).

Conducted annually by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV), the awards, now in their eighth year, celebrate and promote coffee roasting excellence in Australia and internationally.

RASV CEO Brad Jenkins is excited for the 2020 Australian International Coffee Awards, citing them as an incredible event that recognises and rewards the world’s best roasters.

“Winning a medal or trophy offers an unrivalled opportunity for roasters to leverage their success on a local, national and international level,” said Mr. Jenkins.

With judging taking place at Victoria’s Melbourne Showgrounds, the Australian International Coffee Awards offer roasters a unique and highly valued opportunity to have their roasts assessed by the global industry’s best in a city renowned for its excellent coffee culture.

Mr. Jenkins sighted the selection of judges and baristas as a critical element that drives the growing prestige, scale and success of the Awards.

“We are thrilled to have Melissa Caia back as Head Judge and to welcome Shana Hammond into the role of Head Barista. Shana is passionate about educating the coffee scene around sensory evaluation and the sustainability of the industry. We thank Shana for taking time away from managing a roastery in Adelaide to take on the role.

Melissa and Shana are both terrific ambassadors for the coffee industry and are the perfect people to oversee the judging of the 2020 AICA,”

Roasters whose product is scored highly by the judges earn the right to display an Australian International Coffee Awards seal of excellence and gain access to an exclusive medal winners’ marketing and promotions toolkit.

With judging to take place from Wednesday 04 to Friday 06 March 2020 at Melbourne Showgrounds and the trophy winners to be announced later in the month, coffee roasters are encouraged to get their entries in early to be part of this prestigious program.

Entries for the competition close on Friday 7 February 2020. For more information or to enter online visit: https://www.rasv.com.au/australian-international-coffee-awards/
