When do I deliver my entries?

Entries are delivered to the Art, Craft & Cookery Pavilion on the following dates:

Art / Photography / Craft / Decorated Cakes / Restricted: Tuesday 7 September

Cookery / Confectionery / Preserves: Saturday 18 September

Can I collect my exhibit after the Royal Melbourne Show?

All exhibits can be collected after the Show on 5th October 2021. Perishable items will be disposed of at close of the Show. Only fruit cakes and preserves may be collected.

How do I collect my prize or ribbon?

If you have won a prize or a ribbon, they can be collected from the Spotlight Makers Pavilion (Building 13) on the same day as collecting your exhibit – Tuesday 5th October 2021. Any certificates or ribbons not collected will be posted.

How do I know if I have an existing RASV account?

If you entered the Art, Craft & Cookery Competition in 2012 or after, either online or by post, then you will have an online login ID. You should login using your email address as the login ID and enter your password. If you do not know your password, select "Forgotten Your Password?" on the login page to reset it.

When do entries open and close?

Entries open on Tuesday 4th May 2021 and close on Wednesday 18th August 2021.

Can I post my entry?

Entries may be delivered by courier or post if unable to be delivered in person. Exhibits must arrive no later than Friday 27th August 2021.
The name of the exhibitor or school and the class numbers relevant to the exhibits must be clearly shown on the outside of the parcel.

How do I know whether I should enter the novice, open or master section?

See detailed definitions below:

NOVICE: An exhibitor with no more than two years’ participation in that section and has not placed first in that section in the Art, Craft & Cookery Competition at the Royal Melbourne Show at any time. Must not work professionally in that craft, art form or technique.

OPEN: Competition open to all.

MASTER: An Exhibitor who has won a 1st prize in the open classes of this section at any Royal Show. Please state qualifying year and Show.

Do I need to qualify to enter the Royal Melbourne Show?

Most sections are open to all, however individual classes may have specific criteria. The Junior Competition has an age limit and the Restricted Section has specific entry criteria. Please check the Competition Schedule.

How do I withdraw my entry?

You can withdraw your entry by moving through the online entry portal, prior to the closing date for entries.

Can I list my entry for sale at the Show?

Currently, only art and photography can be sold. Items made available for sale incur an additional non-refundable $10 handling and administration fee as well as a 35% royalty on sales.

An Art Launch will be held on the eve of the first day of The Royal Melbourne Show, where exhibitors and the public will have the ability to preview the Spotlight Maker’s Pavilion and buy pieces from the creative collection. There will also be the opportunity to buy art throughout Show.

I am bringing someone else’s entry, whose name should the entry be under?

The entry should always be under the name of the person who created the item that has been entered. This includes junior entries.

As an exhibitor, am I entitled to discounted Royal Melbourne Show entry tickets?

Art, Craft & Cookery exhibitors are not entitled to discounted entry tickets. However, by purchasing the restricted or full RASV membership, you will receive tickets to the Royal Melbourne Show and a discount on your competition entry fees.

When is judging?

The judging will occur on:
