Royal Melbourne Show Judges Information
Mrs Donna Robson as the judge of the 2019 Angus Feature Show.
Residing in Adelong NSW, Donna has been the stud manager of Mount View Orchards Batlow and Flemington Limousin Stud since 2005.
Donna has a long and extensive career in the red meat industry having previously worked for Elders, Food Science Australia and Meat Standards Australia. She is no stranger to the judging ring having overseen judging at Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Launceston and Royal Melbourne Shows along with a number of national sale and junior judging shows.
Donna is honoured to judge the Angus Feature Show and looks forward to being a part of Angus Australia’s 100 year celebrations.
Mr James McWilliam as the judge of the Murray Grey and Red Poll breeds.
James has grown up in the stud industry with Hereford, Angus and Simmental cattle. He moved on to work in a commercial cow/calf and feedlot operation, following the beef production through to the end of the line.
James has managed Kanimbla Livestock at Holbrook since 2006 and currently co-owns the operation with wife Belinda and two other business partners. Kanimbla have an annual sale and export their genetics globally.
James has judged at many events including, Hobart Royal, Brisbane Ekka, Royal Melbourne Show, Junior Shows including Limousin, Hereford & Charolais and many other local and regional shows.
No stranger to the Royal Melbourne Show judging ring, James looks forward to judging multiple breeds in 2019.
Mr Peter Falls as the judge of the Shorthorn, Australian Shorthorn, Beef Shorthorn and Dairy Shorthorn classes.
Peter is from Finley in the Riverina, New South Wales, where along with his family, he operates Malton Shorthorns over three properties.
Aside from stud Shorthorns, Malton specialises in the breeding of white bulls and supplies steers for the JBS Thousand Guinness program.
In 2016, the Falls Family was inducted in to the RASV Beef Cattle Hall of Fame in recognition of 60 years of continuous exhibiting at Royal Melbourne Show. Peter has been involved in the cattle industry his entire lifetime and in 2012 was awarded the Sydney Royal Easter Show Champion.
With a judging resume that spans multiple decades across local and Royal shows, Peter has recent judging experience at Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Royal Melbourne Show. Peter’s judging expertise has taken him as far as Farmfair International in Canada, where he judged the Interbreed Competition.
Peter looks forward to judging the breeds in celebration of the 2019 Shorthorn World Conference.
Mrs Nicole Nicholls as the judge of the Simmental and Charolais breeds.
Nicole and her husband Murray own and operate a dairy and beef enterprise in the Northern Rivers Region of NSW. They have shown steers successfully at most NSW and QLD major steer shows. Nicole and her husband have now extended their business into selling potential show steers at specialised show steer sales.
As a junior, Nicole was runner up at the Australian Junior Judging Championships, Scone Beef Spectacular, Associate Judge of Charolais at Beef 1994 and numerous local shows in Southern QLD and Northern NSW.
Nicole has since judged the Royal Melbourne Show Beef Carcase Competition in 2016, Charolais at Brisbane Ekka in 2017 and numerous breeds including the Charolais at Perth Show in 2018.
We welcome Nicole to the Beef Cattle Competition at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Show.
Mr Glenn Trout as the judge of the Red Angus, Maine Anjou & Santa Gertrudis breeds.
Glenn was raised on a stud and commercial cattle property between Chinchilla and Eidsvold in Queensland. He has had a long career in the cattle industry and is currently the Stud Manager at Kenmere Charolais in Holbrook NSW.
With an extensive experience judging cattle nationally and internationally, Glenn has judged at many prestigious events including Beef Australia (Rockhampton), Farmfair International (Canada), Sydney Royal Easter Show, Royal Melbourne Show, Brisbane EKKA, Perth Royal, Adelaide Royal as well as many other state, national and country shows.
Glenn looks forward to judging at Royal Melbourne Show this year.
Mr Tom Baker as the judge of the Speckle Park and Hereford breeds.
Tom has spent his life in the cattle industry after first becoming formally involved in the family business in 1992. Tom is currently the Director of Woonallee Simmentals, Millicent, South Australia.
Tom has judged extensively throughout the country and is no stranger to the Royal Melbourne Show judging ring both as judge and exhibitor. Judging at almost all Royal Shows including Brisbane Ekka, Peth and Sydney Royal, Tom has also facilitated the SA Junior Heifer Expo, National Beef Expo Show (NZ), Simmental National Show National Junior Simmental Heifer Show as well as various country shows including Edenhope, Lucindale and Mundulla.
Tom is looking forward to casting his eye over the Speckle Parks at Royal Melbourne Show this year.
Mr Kierin Martin as the judge of the Limousin, Galloway and Belted Galloway breeds.
Kierin was born and raised in central west NSW on a broad acre cropping property and feedlot. Over the last decade Kierin has been heavily involved in the seedstock industry having worked on various studs throughout NSW.
In 2008 he established Kianma Poll Hereford’s which he and his wife now run together on their property west of Forbes NSW. Together they run a feeding and fitting service and an ultrasound pregnancy scanning service.
Kierin has judged at a number of local shows, various youth heifer shows, the jackpot heifer competition at the Murray Grey National Show and Sale and the Waterford Challenge at the Royal Melbourne Show last year.
Kierin looks forward to judging multiple breeds at the Royal Melbourne Show this year.
Mr Tom Isedale as the judge of the Australian Lowline, Small Breed Interbreed and the Blonde d’Aquitaine breeds.
Since 2010, Tom has operated ISECO Limousins along with his parents at their Finley property.
With a keen interest in exhibiting their cattle, ISECO has exhibited at the Royal Canberra, Royal Sydney Easter and Royal Melbourne Shows as well as local country shows such as Finley, Deniliquin and Whittlesea. The ISECO Limousin stud has participated in the Limousin Feature Shows at the Royal Sydney Easter and Royal Melbourne Shows.
Tom was a member of the Limousin Youth Committee from 2014-2016 and in 2016, he served as the Committee President. He endeavours to continue his passion for the Limousin breed and beef cattle in the future.
Tom has judged at multiple country shows and has been grateful to work alongside and learn from some of the great cattle judges as he mastered the craft. Tom has judged at regional shows including Benalla, Echuca/Moama, Yea and Euroa. He has a wide knowledge in Junior Judging competitions as competitor and later a judge and over judge.
Tom looks forward to furthering his judging resume at Royal Melbourne Show this year.
