Grandstand Fire 1914

This photograph depicts the Show crowd watching on as fire engulfs the main grandstand. On the second day of the Royal Melbourne Show in 1914, a fire destroyed the main grandstand and the adjacent Industrial Hall. The grandstand was originally a wooden structure built in 1886.
